Dan, who DJ’s under his stage name Constantine “Connie” Price”, grew up with records around the house… his dad’s jazz records, his mom’s Beatles and classical records, his oldest sisters English Beat, Bowie and Traffic records, his brother Yes LP’s and his little sisters rap records (well, she had cassette’s!). Dan comes from a long line of obsessive collectors (“some might say pack rats”) and loves digging for new music… it keeps him going.

Dan learned a TON about records while playing in Breakestra with his good friends (and avid collectors) Miles Tackett and Mixmaster Wolf and from the many stellar DJ/collectors in the L.A. scene (“I have been lucky to have been surrounded by some the deepest collectors here in L.A. like Miles and Wolf, JRocc, Rhettmatic, Babu, Z Trip, NuMark, Cut Chemist, Marvski, Hymnal, Egon, Octavio, Madlib, Clifton Weaver, Danny Holloway, Adam Hayden, Hector Waluyo, Jeremy Sole, Garth Trinidad, Eric Coleman, Peanut Butter Wolf, Dennis Owens, etc… .through the years these guys have turned me onto so much great music”).

At the same time Dan was also collaborating with Benyad and Mazik (Blood Of Abraham) and Will.I.Am for BofA’s sophomore LP “Eye$Tree”. Ben and Will were huge record collectors, turning Dan onto incredible soundtracks, Afrobeat, Samba and Jamaican records.

Years later when Dan backed up long time musical inspirations De La Soul, The Beatnuts, Big Daddy Kane, EPMD, The Pharcyde and others (as a guitarist with his group Connie Price and The Keystones or with Rhythm Roots All Stars) Dan got to talk records directly with musicologists like Maceo, Juju, Diamond D and Kane who turned many onto so many amazing LP’s through sampling them in their music. Dan feels ever grateful and have learned so much from all these heavy musical guru’s.

As a DJ and a collector himself Dan loves finding new and inspiring music, is on the hunt constantly and loves spinning his favorite tracks for people at bars, hotels and clubs like The Echo (Funky Sole, Dub Club), Good Foot (Alex’s Bar, Long Beach), Bamboo Club (Long Beach), The Ace Hotel & Swim Club (Palm Springs), Hello Stranger, The Regent, The Perch, The Virgil, The Townhouse, Zebulon, Part Time Lover (San Diego), Petit Ermitage, Elsewhere, The Standard and The Line Hotel (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) here in LA as well as private parties and events. Dan’s collection includes everything from 50’s Rock ‘N’ Roll & Rhythm & Blues, 60’s and 70’s Soul & Funk, Salsa, soul jazz, late 70’s/early 80’s Disco, funk, pop and punk rock, late 60’s- early 70’s soundtracks, 60’s and 70’s rock, folk rock and psych, “golden era” rap and Jazz to the music of Jamaica, Brazil, Mexico, India, Africa and much more.

Dan is also fully insured for weddings and corporate events, has a full P.A. system and is a member of N.A.M.E.
